It's flat, shaded, and about as family-friendly as riding gets. Start down at South Beach Marina, loop up through the interior trails to Harbour Town for a break on the water, and swing past Lawton Stables on the way back. There's a small daily gate fee to enter Sea Pines by car, but on a bike you're free to roam.

The ride, stop by stop

  1. South Beach Marina

A laid-back New England–style marina and the easiest place to start. Ice cream, the Salty Dog, and calm water views.

  2. Harbour Town Lighthouse

The island's icon. Climb the 114 steps for a view over Calibogue Sound, or just circle the yacht basin and grab a cold drink.

Good to know

No e-bikes in Sea Pines

Sea Pines doesn't allow e-bikes on its trails. A standard cruiser is perfect here — the whole point is the slow, shaded roll.

Grab the trail map

The Sea Pines trail network branches a lot. Most rental shops hand you a map with your bikes — keep it handy or drop the stops into your phone before you start.

Mind the lagoons

Those calm ponds are alligator habitat. Enjoy the view, keep your distance, and never approach or feed them — especially with kids along.
