If you’re staying near Sea Pines and want to explore beyond your car, we rented from South Beach Bike Rentals at 230 S Sea Pines Dr — and it was one of the best decisions of our trip. Sea Pines rentals were either booked or hard to navigate online. South Beach was simple. You can reserve ahead and choose anything from a one-hour ride to a full week rental, which is helpful for longer stays. We rented an adult bike with a pull-on trailer for about $65 for a 4-hour block and used it just over three hours — perfect timing. The bikes were well maintained, and the staff made sure everything was adjusted before we left. We rode the South Beach paths, walked the bikes over the boardwalk (you do have to walk them there), and then onto the hard-packed beach. Riding on the sand was surprisingly smooth once we found the right stretch. Because we had bikes, we: • Rode both beach access and island trails • Saw boats and barrier island views • Stopped so our daughter could explore • Even spotted a dolphin offshore There are no restrictions on where you can ride, which makes it easy to explore at your own pace. And if you get turned around, locals are happy to point you in the right direction. Why We’d Go Back The flexibility and selection stand out — adult bikes, kids’ bikes, trailers, tandems, and rental options from an hour to a week. It’s straightforward, well-run, and gives you access to parts of Hilton Head Island you won’t see from a car. If you want to experience Sea Pines and South Beach in a more active way, this is absolutely worth considering. If this helped you, a quick ❤️ means a lot—I’m almost to my Expert Reviewer badge!

Significantly overpriced. Bikes are often Rusty and seat adjustment is not smooth because of the rest and age.

Easy in and out. Easy adjustment. Had a bit of a wait due to a mix up for the couple in front of us (not South Beach Bike's fault). They kindly threw in an extra basket because of the wait. Would rent from them again.

Friendly service and they were very flexible to work with us when we had a change in plans. Our family had a blast riding bikes around the resort, definitely a highlight of the trip!

I was in the area with a rental bike that got a flat tire and did not have a way to get back. South Beach Bike allowed me to leave my bike there and use a bike to get back to our rental. NICEST PEOPLE ever- thank you!!!!
